Andree Mahoney worked in a wide range of materials and styles, using a range of clay including orcelain, stoneware, or earthenware. She used various forming methods including wheelthrowing, handbuilding, press molds. She also was know to carve a peice from a of blocks of clay. Sometimes she used a combination of these techniques. Surface treatment can be raw clay, glazes or lusters. Occasionllly pieces werepainted with acrylics post firing.Andree Mahoney?s motifs are figurative, animalistic, object-oriented, and abstract. Her workr references the surreal; she often used her work to make social commentary.The work was fired in oxidation or reduction atmospheres.
