    Biography

David Regan uses his skills as a draftsman to create a union of drawing and sculpture in his functional porcelain pots.Typically the vessel, sculpture or both are covered with tattoo-like scraffito.

Beginning in 1989 he placed hand-built sculptural objects inside his vessels. Regan has also produced a number of figurative, both human and animal, sculptures which are also covered with sgraffito decoration. He uses his sgraffito drawings to explore the cycles of life. He also operates an artisan tile company called David Regan Tile.

Regan was awarded a second place grant in the Virginia Groot Foundation competition in 2011.
