    Richard Garriott-Stejskal is known for coil built stoneware figural sculptures with a neo-surrealist twists. The sculptures focus on the human form and are frequently unglazed, Sometimes the human form is given animal or abstract features. In one sculpture a high gloss black glazed box covers the upper third of the head of an unglazed abstracted head, neck, and shoulders.

    Garriott-Stejskal became the first registered art therapist in New Mexico in 1970 and worked at the Veteran?s administration for 25 years. During this time he continued to produce sculptures.
