    About
    Biography

Amanda Jaffe is known for producing tile for walls and murals. Each tile begins when porcelain slip is poured into a mold. Jaffe is known to begin manipulating the surface texture even before the piece is removed from the mold. The tiles are often presented as diptychs, although sometimes the division is created by a color change rather than there actually being two pieces. Jaffe?s tiles can include forms drawn from nature such as shells, flowers or leaves applied to the tiles. Flower petals forming flowers, cascading curled leaves or other elements from nature which fill the tile, are retained within a tile frame or cascade across the surface.
