    Biography

John Brock is known for traditional wheel-thrown functional stoneware pottery. His work is often decorated with multiple glaze colors and brushwork. His brushwork style is a painterly organic stroke that complimented the form of the pot.

He was a prot駩 of Charles Counts at Rising Fawn Pottery and later created his own pottery under the name Brock Studio. In 1979 he went on a world tour to study traditional pottery techniques of various cultures, much of his work is based on his experiences in India, Thailand, China, Peru, and Argentina.
