Kathy Goos is a functional potter, making wheel-thrown and slab-built casseroles, bowls, mugs, dinnerware, teapots, and pitchers. Her stoneware is oxidation-fired in an electric kiln with spotted oatmeal and colored glazes dipped and poured. In the late 1990?s, she began working with low-fire red earthenware; these pots are decorated with slip and brightly colored underglazes.
Influences include her own gardens and her work with elementary school children.
