Lee McCarty | Also Known As: with Pup McCarty

Lee McCarty and his wife, Pup McCarty, are known for wheel-thrown stoneware functional pottery. Surface techniques are minimal. Signature glazes include nutmeg brown, cobalt blue, and jade. The husband and wife team created work together for over 50 years at their Merigold, Mississippi studio.

In 1998, godson's Jamie and Steven Smith apprenticed with the McCartys. The Smith brothers took over production of the McCartys? signature pottery after the McCarty's passed.
