Lisa Dolliver makes functional porcelain pottery that is often marbled with colored clays and carved. Dolliver creates an organic marbled effect by throwing the wedged colored and white porcelain on the potter?s wheel. Another decorative technique used by Dolliver is altering her pots with organic line carvings that change the once round shape of the wheel-thrown pot to a repetitive rippling form.
Dolliver studied with Makoto Yabe for 13 years at DeCordova Museum School. Yabe influenced her use of color.
