Michael Crocker, is known for traditionally based wheel thrown stoneware functional wares. As a child he watched potters working on the wheel. Crocker began working as an apprentice with the various families known for generations as north Georgia potters.
At one time, Crocker made face jugs in collaboration with his brother, Melvin. These face jugs were thrown by Michael and decorated by Melvin. The brothers have separated their work and now produce in their own studios.
