    About
    Biography

Molly Buford Mendenhall is known for wheel-thrown functional stoneware pottery which is reduction fired in a gas kiln. Surfaces feature a variety of earth-toned glazes. Several of Mendenhall's glazes promote the development of iron spotting, black or brown specs, which develop on the surface of the glaze during firing. This results from the use of iron-rich clay in the glaze formulation.
