Blair Clemo is known for functional pottery and decorative vessels. Clemo is best known for a body of works entitled 'Deco'. These pieces are hand-built using a combination of wheel-thrown elements and press-molded elements.
Many of the press molds used by Clemo show his interest in period architectural ornamentation. Pieces in the Deco series are created using red earthenware or stoneware and are glazed using a manganese-saturated glaze that gives the vessel, on first glance, the appearance of ornate silver work.
