Sinclair W. Ashley is known for creating functional and decorative pottery. The work was developed on the potter?s wheel, most often using stoneware clay. Ashley frequentlyglazed his work in a variety of earth tones and occasionally used these glazes to create abstract landscape decorations on his work. Ashley worked with Charles Counts at Rising Fawn Pottery, before opening his own studio in Chattanooga.
