Matt Kelleher is known for his investigation of soda-fired tableware, including jars, boxes and serving pieces. He has broadened his practice to include sculptural vessels, bird inspired forms, and collaborative work with Shoko Teruyama, his wife.
Kelleher studied with Victor Babu and Ken Ferguson at Kansas City Art Institute and with Gail Kendall, Peter Pinnell and Eddie Dominguez at the University of Nebraske-Linclon.
