    About
    Biography

Steven Forbes de Soule is known for wheel-thrown raku fired vessel forms. After throwing, DeSoule often severely altered each vessel form to create sculptural forms. He produces containers for Ikebana vessels (a form of flower arranging), lamp bases and tile wall murals. He uses his own glaze formulations and repeatedly fires each object until he achieves the coloration he seeks, sometimes firing 4 or 5 times. De Soule has been using the raku process since 1982.
