    Susan Karrasch is known for highly detailed oxidation fired porcelain sculptures and functional work. The mixed media sculptures involve delicate porcelain butterflies, with sterling silver legs and antennae. The functional work includes thrown plates with intricately incised images and textures, oxides and clear glazes.

    Karrasch studied with Ralph Bacerra, and moved to Reno, Nevada in 1968.
