Tony Winchester is best known for functional wheel-thrown, facetted, and in some cases assembled stoneware pottery. Before salt or reduction firing the pieces, Winchester applies a traditional stoneware glaze, for example temmoku or shino glaze, followed by green, blue, and/or purple with minor notes of primary colors. Glazes are airbrushed in multiple layers. Winchester?s wife, Mindy Winchester, shares the studio and decorates some of the works thrown by Winchester[1].
