    About
    Biography

Leah Leitson creates porcelain forms that can be thrown, altered, and assembled occasionally using slip trailing and carving as part of the surface treatment. Her forms and surface treatments are inspired by the natural surroundings.

In addition, she is drawn to the aesthetics of 18th and 19th century decorative arts. Although her functional work is designed to function she also sees them as sculptural objects. She applies glazes so they will run and pull giving the suggestion of excess. The pieces are high fired in salt or reduction.
