Achaidae Bakka

USA, 2001

The grey vertical side of a rectangular table top sculpture. The grey appears to be fine wire mesh. The lower left hand side curves to the right making the base narrower than the top. There is a silhouette of a six legged creature shape with a long tail cut from the mesh. It has a lustourus gold band around the rim. There is a six legged green alligator in the silhouette. The alligator has a textured body with smooth legs that have numerous blue and yellow dots. The long tail ends with a tight spiral. The head is turned to the left with an open mouth that reveals two rows of very pointly white teeth.

The right return side of the rectangle is also covered with mesh. There are 5 niches cut into the mesh and clay. Each niche contains an abstract head. From the top down they are light blue, brown, light green, orange, and purple. Also visible are two tan sections attached to the tectangle, a broader one on the bottom and a narrower one on top of it. Both buldge out to the right. The foot is grey under the mesh turning to tan under the tan forms. The tan part is curved out on the right side.

The reverse is tan and divided into 3 sections, the two described above and one that runs from the top to bottom on the right. Its right side curves inward to the left where in front it curved to the right. There is a gold bordered silhouette cut into each section. There is a blue fish in the one on the lower left. On the top left there is a blue green creature with a red head pointing downward. An orange, pink , and green hummingbird flies upward in the top right.

The left side shows the three buldging sections. Near the foot on the right there is another gold bordered silhouette. This on holds a tan, brown, and blue beetle.

The black underside shows the sections are hollow. The accession number 2004.4.18 or 19 is written on a white label.
