Henry Lyman

Henry Lyman is known for hand-built porcelain vessels with highly detailed surface textures, often referencing sea life.

Lyman?s ?Coupling Pots? (1979) in the Smithsonian American Art Museum collection, resemble a pair of jellyfish entwined. These pieces are often finished with matte color washes to highlight the texture.

Lyman studied with artist Rudi Autio at the University of Montana.
