Large Male Bust

USA, 1900

A table top sculpture of a male bust. The entire ground of the piece is tan that is lighter on the top of the nose and head. The head is on a bell shaped form. The head is slightly tilted to the man's left, the eyes are also looking to the left; they are outlined with heavy black lines. There are very strong black eye brows and a frown line on each side of the well defined closed mouth. The ears are also well defined. Four blue small clay pillows each with an impressed plus sign are arranged across the chest. Each is connected by a black line to a black line running around the base. There is a coiled piece of clay going around the base below the black line.

A close up of the right half the head. The eye surrounded by black lines is looking up. A frown line runs from the side of the nose to the end of the mouth. The skin is blotchy light tan which turns lighter and shiny on top of the head.
