Angelo Garzio is known for functional, wheel thrown wood-fired stoneware vessels, and hand painted majolica earthenware.
During his graduate studies, Garzio worked closely with Glenn C. Nelson to help create the ceramics program at the University of Iowa.
Garzio remained passionate about sponsoring education in the arts outside of his University classroom. He has several scholarships in his name at both the University of Iowa and Kansas State, and established a fund named after his mother, Rose Garzio, to support the University of Iowa?s Music and Art Library.
