Win Ng?s early ceramic pieces were abstract non-functional sculptures showing the influence of the work of Peter Voulkos. He often worked in series exploring the relationship of rectangular and circular forms. After meeting the artist Spaulding Taylor he began making functional pieces.
Ng and Taylor co-founded the San Francisco department store Taylor & Win (1961). Ng designed many ceramic pieces for the store and their large wholesale market, these were typically made in Japan. Going forward Ng created book designs and linens in addition to ceramics.
Ng created a large tile mural at the Maxine Hall Health Center, San Francisco, California and a painted mural on the concourse level of the Orinda BART station in Contra Costa County, California. Late in life Ng returned to making one of a kind sculptures.
