Atmosphere-egg shaped sculpture
Don Jones is known for his spherical and oval wheel thrown earthenware forms, surfaced to look like the sky. Jones achieved this effect by airbrushing work with underglazes for color and an allover thin coat of clear glaze. The artist refers to these pieces as ?atmospheres.? Jones? inspiration comes from observing the New Mexico sky.
