Big Game

USA, 2017

Two elongated heads placed side by side are the base of this table top sculpture. They are placed chin to forehead. They are flat on the underside. The one on the left is looking upward, the one on the right is looking toward the one on the left. Light blue glaze was poured on the faces and has run down the sides. To the front of the piece there is a very dark red rabbit standing upright on the forehead of one of the heads. At the back of the piece there is the head of an Asian resting on the chin and forehead of the faces. Its face and eyes with very dark pupils is directed toward the rabbit. The facial features are carefully rendered. Two pure white rabbits are lying on a pillow on the top of this head. One has open eyes the other's eyes are closed. Grey glaze runs over the pillow and down the face. A cluster of finely detailed deep grey pine cones begins at a rabbit's chin and wraps around the back of them.

A closer view of the above described image.

A view from above showing the way the pine cones wrap around and over the backs of the rabbits. They go over the one on the right and end in the middle of the other's back. The placement of the base heads is clearer in this image. They are slightly rolled in toward one another.

A rectangular piece of clay with GUY YOUNG written in capital letters followed by a period.
