Megan Mitchell is known for wheel-thrown functional pottery and slab rolled wall tile installations. Both bodies of work are created using porcelain or white stoneware. Surface technique in the leather-hard stage includes a colored slip silk screen.

Work is high fired in a reduction kiln to 2,350 degrees Fahrenheit. Both pottery pieces and tile wall installations carry similar themes.Subject matter includes fences, doors, landscape, windows architecture, textiles, and geometry.
