James W Kemp

Early in his career, pre-1968, Kemp created functional porcelain work. Later in his career he began making earthenware vessels. Surfaces of the later work were finished by air brushing bright colors of low-fired underglazes directly to the earthenware pot surface.

In 2012, Kemp had a retrospective show of his work at the University of Indianapolis, to celebrate 30 years of his artwork.
