Dale Huffman

Dale Huffman is known for wood fired, ash glazed, wheel thrown stoneware pottery. His forms and ash glazes are organic and reflect a strong Japanese influence.

Huffman has worked as a studio artist in the Pittsburgh area since the 1980?s. In 1996, Huffman traveled to Japan to participate in the International Workshop for Ceramics at Tokoname (IWCAT), which inspired his pottery. Huffman began wood-firing more, built wood-kilns at various locations, and experimented with ash-based glazes.
