Deborah Goldman is known for translucent porcelain vessels and sculptural "Still-lives". Goldman’s petite porcelain vessels are wheel thrown and carved to create the appearance of thin, translucent layers. The artist describes the work as an exploration between form and light.1 These vessels are left unglazed or are lightly glazed with oxides and soluble metal slats to keep their delicate, translucent quality.
Goldman's home studio is in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York.
