Marsha Owen and her husband, Rick Moss, are known for functional, wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain pottery including plates, teapots, and bowls. Most of the throwing is done by Owen while the surface techniques are executed by Moss. Surface techniques include various resist techniques, stamping, and sgraffito as well as the application of a variety of colored slips, stains, and underglazes. Owen established Marsha Owen Pottery in 1983. Rick Moss joined the studio practice later.
