Richard Shaw | 1941 – Present

Richard Shaw is known for his exacting trompe l?oeil sculptures. He created his own technique for applying transfer decals and over glazing.

Shaw started his career immersed in 1960s Bay Area popular culture. He combines a Pop Art sensibility with found objects, hand built, thrown, and slip cast elements to create surreal and humorous sculptures that often make humorous social commentary.
