George Handy

George Handy?s work includes ceramic and mixed media. He is known for thrown and altered work which show both low and high relief carving. Some nonfunctional bowls have gold leaf on the interiors. Dinnerware pieces are decorated using multi-colored broad underglaze brush strokes on a white ground.

In addition, Handy created a number of large high relief murals using various non-clay materials. These murals can be seen in public spaces through the south eastern United States.

The surfaces of his vessels and murals carry characteristic design elements and relief work.
