Peter Kuentzel is known for sculptures, often in the form of boats, and wall pieces. Each piece is hand built from stoneware using slabs. His work is typically composed of rectangles, triangles, and circles. Surfaces finishes include glaze, stamping, and scraffito. His color palette most often includes yellows, reds, and blues. The work is raku fired. Kuentzel has also produced mixed media drawings with collage elements. Kuentzel studied with Paul Soldner at Claremont.
