Scott R. Jones

Scott Jones is known for colorfully illustrated white earthenware platters. The platters are generally 17-inches across and made by draping clay slabs into molds. Decorative technique is carving the platter surfaces with cartoonlike illustrations and application of low fire commercial glaze colors. The illustrations feature images of pop culture, especially food, such as Oreos and hot dogs.

Jones is one of the founders of Strictly Functional Pottery National, an annual juried exhibitiion.
