Mary Lou Alberetti is known for ceramic and mixed media sculptural reliefs inspired by both abstract and representational references to architecture and history.
Alberetti says, ?I create works in which I hope to distill both the beauty and lessons of antiquity, as I explore how the fragments of a culture embody its aesthetic and philosophical underpinnings.? Her reliefs are often influenced by her many travels to Italy, Spain, France, Turkey and Ireland. She is a Professor Emerita at Southern Connecticut State University.
