Ring Box

USA, 1972
<p>This box is a tall thin rectangle. The lower area is glazed purple, the black glaze used for the upper area has run down into the purple area. The lid has mottled green sides with a thin band of gold detailing and a lavender top. There is a carved feize at the top of the box showing black snake like forms that are accented by purple glaze. A blunt form protrudes from one end of the freize, two curved pieces protrude from the other.</p><p>This is a close up of the freize and the inside covered with purple velvet.</p><p>An accession number, 2004.2.334.b,  is seen here on the inside of the lid.</p><p>The <span>unglazed </span>base with 3 small round holes.</p>
