Dolores Lewis Garcia | 1938 – Present

Dolores Lewis is known for pieces using the traditional Acoma construction methods. Her surfaces carry mages from designs of her ancestors, the Anasazi.

Lewis is one of the daughters of the master Acoma potter, Lucy M. Lewis. Dolores Lewis was self-taught, learning the traditional construction methods by watching her mother who was a major influence, and other Acoma potters.
