Ted Neal uses stoneware to create utilitarian vessels and steel to create industrial forms to contain them. The surfaces he creates reference the color and texture of ageing objects.
Frequently the thin walled functional ceramic form takes on the look of rusted or oxidized metal. In his work Neal challenges the boundaries of function and sculpture.
