Nancy Carman

Nancy Carman is known for Surrealistic figurative hand-built sculptures and tiles using low fired clays. Surfaces vary from highly finished sculptures including a simplified asexual human and graphic element and earlier faceted unglazed objects. The figures that appear in Carman's work often appears stark and lacking gender identification. Surfaces are developed using various glazing techniques. Often Carmen?s compositions are narrative.
