Andrew B. Gardner is known for wood-fired wheel-thrown stoneware pottery. Signature forms include tea bowls and vases. Depending on the form, wares are meant to be either functional or decorative. Surface techniques include earth tones and textured or rough surfaces accented by heavy surface ash deposits.

Gardner also made bent willow furniture.
